| Description | Director of Nursing $77-$85K DOE Are you currently licensed as an RN in the state of Alaska? Are you looking for that next opportunity where you can make a difference? This Juneau, Alaska long-term-care facility is seeking a Director of Nursing Services and it could be you. Your primary goal will be to manage the Nursing Department to achieve and maintain the highest quality care to all residents at all times. You understand that nursing isn't just about medical care; it's about knowing your residents and fulfilling their needs. You will develop and direct, staff and supervise the provision of nursing care to the residents in this 44-bed skilled care facility. You will be responsible for the facility quality improvement program, infection control program, and staff development. You have at least five years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or skilled nursing facility and are willing to share your knowledge. You are BLS certified and knowledgeable of current nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long term care. You run a tight and timely ship but also maintain a positive atmosphere on the unit. You will supervise the work of nursing staff members and oversee annual performance reviews. You will monitor resident care and the environment daily to ensure it is appropriate and safe. You will ensure that established infection control and work practice policies are followed. You foster an atmosphere of respect, ensuring that Resident Rights are respected and protected by all staff members. You enjoy the hands-on side of nursing and will maintain direct resident contact and involvement in resident care. You will aid in the development, implementation, and revision of the resident care plan, as part of the interdisciplinary care team. You have excellent communication skills in speaking, writing, and listening. You will facilitate regular nursing staff meetings and be the open line of communication between management and the nursing staff. You will submit operating and capitol budget requests to the administrator for equipment and supply needs for the nursing units. Relocation and travel expenses paid. Salary $77-$85K DOE.
