  Job Title   Executive Vice President/Chief Operations Officer

  Description   A Vice President position has opened in a well established hospital system in rural Alaska due to the retirement of the sitting VP of seventeen years. You will work in partnership with the CEO in the operations of the Corporation, hospital, and village-based services and will establish and maintain a monthly reporting system. You will plan, direct, and coordinate the health care, medical staff relations, medical technology and related federal issues that affect the functioning of a rural health care program under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer. You will be responsible for assisting the CEO in overseeing the day-to-day management operations of corporate functions in such areas as planning, policy analysis, grant writing, health data analysis, public relations, fiscal issues, contract/grant compliance, and special projects. Knowledge of Indian Health Services and experience in the private sector will be critical to your success. Additionally, you have been responsible for preparing budgets, performing analysis and have experience understanding and developing strategic plans. The ideal candidate has a Masters in Hospital Administration, Public Health, or Public Administration and a minimum of five years of progressive experience in health care administration, preferably in rural health care setting or Indian Health Care Services. Your work history illustrates demonstrated competence in managing high level organizational administration. You also bring a solid knowledge of methods, principles, and practices of management, finance, budgeting, and negotiations in the Hospital/Public Health sector.
