Robert Bulmer

Robert Bulmer, a second generation Alaskan, is the founder and President of Alaska Executive Search, Inc. and its five specialty Divisions.  Bob’s knowledge of business, particularly here in Alaska, is extensive.  In addition to founding AES, he served as Chief of Operations for Governor Hickel’s administration, and worked as a Management Consultant and Trouble Shooter in Alaska, the U.S. and Europe.

Bob has been actively involved with numerous Boards and Commissions throughout the State of Alaska.  These affiliations include Past Chairman and a Director of Alaska Public Telecommunications, Inc.; Board Member of the Alaska State and Anchorage Chambers of Commerce; Member UAA Advisory Boards for College of Business & Public Policy and College of Arts & Sciences; and the Anchorage Rotary Club.  Additionally, Bob is the Founder, Chair Emeritus of The Alaska Community Foundation.

Because of his commitment to community service, he has been able to help support the growth of Alaska businesses.

Anne Bulmer

Anne Bulmer is an Executive Search Consultant and the company’s Administrative Manager.  She is responsible for overseeing the Temporary, Medical and Office Staffing Divisions.  Anne has over 25 years recruiting experience for CEO’s, CFO’s, COO’s, Managers and all levels of Accounting Professionals.   

While raising a family and working to support the business development at AES, Anne has spent a great deal of time focusing on enhancing learning and growth opportunities for the children and young adults in our city.  She is one of the four founding members of The Imaginarium, the children’s science center.  Anne has worked to improve education through these activities.

Diane Bachman
Office Manager/Medical Staffing Recruiter

Diane has been with AES since 1990 and has over seventeen years experience in  human resources. Diane serves as Office Manager overseeing daily office operations. As the recruiter for all medical staffing and nurse placements, she recruits, interviews, tests and places medical employees and nurses, ensuring all candidates’ skills, credentials, licensures and references are current. Diane’s dynamic style and commitment to customer satisfaction ensure a superior level of service. Her background also includes significant experience in marketing and public relations.  Her professional affiliations have included: Public Relations Society of America, Society of Human Resource Management and Toastmasters. 

Laura Rogers

Laura Rogers joined Alaska Executive Search in January 2004 as the Professional/Technical Recruiter. With over 26 years in Anchorage, Laura’s focus includes Engineering (all disciplines), Environmental Science, Construction Project Management, and Technical Inspection. As the Professional Recruiter she also concentrates on highly skilled positions which require accreditation and/or licensing within Oil & Gas, Safety, Land Survey, Sales, Marketing, Food & Beverage, Hospitality Management and Operations.

Laura is actively involved in many professional and engineering organizations to better serve her clients. Her community involvement includes her membership of 15 years with the Petroleum Club of Anchorage, ASCE/Alaska Society of Civil Engineers, ASPE/Alaska Society of Professional Engineers, SPE/Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the AEMAA/Architects & Engineers Marketing Association of Alaska.

Karen Washington

Karen Washington manages the Office Staffing Division.  Karen joined AES in 1997 and has spent her career with AES building the division and ensuring it provides the highest quality service to all clients.  This includes recruitment, thorough interviews and applicant screening, arranging appropriate computer skill evaluations, reference checks, and the intangible quality of assessing a candidate’s fit with any given organization.  Karen’s priority is making every effort to ensure customer and client satisfaction. She takes pride in the Division’s outstanding record of quality placements and a high level of client satisfaction resulting in numerous long-term, loyal clients. Karen is a member of the Society for Human Resource Managers and has over twenty years experience in the areas of human resources and benefits, civil service administration, and facilities.

Lauren Caraghar
Recruiter Temporary Staffing

Lauren Caraghar coordinates all placements for the Temporary Staffing Division. She began her career with AES in 2002, where she initially worked with the Executive Search Division and then began a new role with the Office Staffing Division in 2005 before taking over the management of Temporary Staffing in 2006.  Lauren has been involved with the full range of placements handled by AES.  The goal of the Temporary Staffing Division is to take the time to screen candidates who are a genuinely good fit.  Lauren thoroughly enjoys working with client companies and candidates seeking temporary work to broker solid employment arrangements that successfully meet the needs of both parties.  She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is currently studying for her Human Resource Certification in an effort to provide enhanced service to the Alaska business community.

Elizabeth Howe

Elizabeth’s focus is to work with Network Administrators, Software Developers, Network Security Engineers, Project Managers, Database Administrators and Architects, ERP experts, Desktop Support and IT Management. She has been helping companies both in Alaska and nationwide staff their IT departments since 2000.  Her technical savvy allows her to understand what a client’s needs truly are and then match those needs with a stellar candidate who is also a great cultural “fit”.   Elizabeth functions as a hiring advisor to her clients, sharing her expertise and minimizing the time it takes to make a successful hire.

Ms. Howe earned her BBA in Management from the University of Portland.  She is on the Board of both Network User Group – Alaska (NUGA) and the local chapter of Association for IT Professionals (AITP). 

Tim Ahern
Executive Search Consultant

Timothy Ahern is an Executive Search Consultant at AES and is responsible for Executive and Professional Searches. After having worked for private companies in Asia, the Japanese government, and later in Africa for the United Nations, Tim returned to the USA to become a successful Search Consultant and Recruiter in the Silicon Valley.

Prior to his international business career, Tim served in the Armed Forces in the Interior of Alaska during the completion of the pipeline.

Returning to Alaska, Tim brings over 10 years of work experience that includes international business, regional development, global environmental policy, and hands-on experience in international environmental diplomacy. He has staffing and HR experience that includes but is not limited to the fields of Education, Medicine, IT, and Engineering. Tim is dedicated to the values of AES and to the growth of Alaska businesses.
